Josephine Akumbu Kandozie is the Managing Partner of Sheba Barristers + Solicitors firm.

An experienced legal practitioner, trained mediator, chartered tax practitioner, associate accountant technician and a Notary Public.  She is a writer, a skilled administrator and a motivational speaker.

She graduated from the University of Ibadan LL.B {HONS} Second Class lower Division in year 2001 and was called to the Nigeria Bar in July 2003.

She has honed her extensive legal and commercial skill for over a decade having garnered legal and commercial practice experience from working with the firms of Messrs. Tayo Oyetibo & Co. SAN, Deji Sasegbon & Co. SAN, Johnson Bryant Legal Practitioners & Trade Mark Agents.

In her voyage in practice, she has been opportune to handle transactions across board including but not limited to legal representations in courts, corporate/commercial transactions, legal due diligence, company secretarial, mediation and alternative dispute resolution, conveyance & regulatory, tax advisories & registration, estates & administration & Intellectual Property Law.

She had appeared at different strata of courts in Nigeria up to the Court of Appeal.

She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria {CITN}, An Accredited Mediator of the Lagos Multi – Door Court House, {LMDC} Igbosere Lagos,  Member Panel of Neutrals Lagos Multi – Door Court House, {LMDC}, CO-Mediator Court of Appeal Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre (COAADRC) An Associate Accounting Technician {AAT} of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria {ICAN}. She is presently undertaking professional training of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators {ICSAN}, she recently concluded a Basic Presentation Course with The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria {FRCN}.

She is a Member of The Nigerian Bar Association {NBA}, Very active Member of the Nigerian Bar Ikeja Branch, Member of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria {CITN}, Member of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria {CITN} Ikeja Branch, Very active Member of Publicity & Publication Committee {CITN} 8 years in service. 2007-2011, 2013-2017, Immediate Past General Secretary ikeja District & Society (2019 to 2021), Member of Society of Women in Taxation {SWIT}, Immediate Past Publicity & Publication Society of Women in Taxation, Immediate Past Secretary Society of Women in Taxation {SWIT Lagos Chapter}, Member of  Federation of Women Lawyers {FIDA}

She is fluent in English, Igbo, Yoruba,

She has three published literary work to her name, “Patterned in Poems 1,2 & 3”, “Patterned in Poems for Schools” and other literary work yet unpublished.

She has worked with several Non- for Profit Organisation involved in poverty alleviation program and trainings, and offered pro-bono legal services as well for such organisations.

She is the Founder/ Programs Director of Deborah’s Skill Acquisition Initiative for Girls an NGO focused on discovering and developing the skills of the Girl Child early and raising women entrepreneurs who will become World leaders in their own right.

She has attended several training workshops and seminars for enhancing skills and for continuous improvement of knowledge. She believes that learning is a continuous process and enjoys working with teams.
